Gade Confident to Prevent the 3rd singles for China In London Games

World No. 4 Peter Hoeg Gade has vowed to prevent Chen Jin from leapfrogging him in the world rankings to enable China to have three full spots at next year's Olympic Games in London.
Chen currently stands in the fifth placing with compatriot Chen Long and Lin Dan ranking second and third, behind Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia.
According to the World Badminton Federation's rules, a country can field three players in men's singles at the Olympics only when it has three shuttlers ranked in the world top four.
"I'll do my best not to (let China get three quotas) but it seems there's a chance they can do that," Gade said on Wednesday after his 21-13, 20-22 and 22-20 victory against Wan Ho Shon of South Korea in the first round of the China Open.
Gade injured his right ankle in May and it had been bothering him ever since.
"It's getting better and better", said the 34-year-old veteran.
On Thursday, Gade will face Chinese shuttler Du Pengyu, who outplayed teammate Qiao Bin 21-12, 21-8 in the first round.
